In 1999, he moved to head up the department of
Ophthalmology at Eglin AFB, Florida, where he
also was as an Assistant Professor of Surgery
with responsibilities in medical student, physician
assistant student, and resident training in ophthalmology.
In 2004, he separated with an honorable discharge
from the USAF, to become an associate with his
mentor and friend Dr. Richard Anderson at the
Center for Facial Appearances. He currently is
also the acting chief of oculoplastics and orbital
surgery at the Salt Lake Department of Veterans
Affairs, where he continues his passion for teaching
to ophthalmology residents.
SOCIETY MEMBERSHIPS
& ACTIVITIES
Dr. Burroughs is Board Certified and a Fellow
of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Upon
his honorable release from the military, he is
now eligible for induction into the prestigious
American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Reconstructive
Surgeons in 2006.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS/HONORS:
Dr. Burroughs received many military honors and
decorations during his military tour of duty.
He is most proud of his awards during Operation
Southern Watch in the Persian Gulf, which include
an aerial achievement medal for his direct contributions
and involvement with flight sorties over hostile
territory. He also received the esteemed meritorious
service medal for his clinical and academic accomplishments
while serving as the chief of ophthalmology at
Eglin AFB, Florida. His Florida practice took
care of approximately 20,000 patients and thousands
of rehabilitative and aesthetic procedures and
surgeries. Additionally, after just a few years
of practice, he was selected as a scientific reviewer
for the most prestigious journal in ophthalmology.
He has also received numerous recognitions for
his humanitarian and teaching efforts on third
world surgical missions.
PUBLICATIONS:
He has published 15 scientific papers and presented
15 scientific papers at both national and international
symposia. He has also been a journal reviewer
for both the Ophthalmology and the Ophthalmic
Plastic Reconstructive Surgery journals.

:
Dr. Burroughs main focus is to help patients enhance
their appearance and/or function of their eyelids
and face, with a particular interest on eyelid
and forehead rejuvenation. He has over 6 years
of Botox experience for both functional and cosmetic
uses. His primary goal is to provide his patients
the very best and compassionate care possible.
