Blepharoplasty
is the removal of excess skin, muscle
and fatty tissues from the upper and
lower eyelids. This is the most common
facial cosmetic surgery and has the
highest level of patient satisfaction.
Upper lid surgery is performed through
a lid crease incision to reduce excess
tissue, sculpt fatty tissue and form
a cosmetic crease. This allows makeup
to be used more effectively. Lower
lid surgery is usually performed from
inside the eyelid to hide the incision.
Fat prolapse in the lower eyelids
is sculpted and repositioned to give
a more youthful appearance and fill
hollow circles. The lower lid wrinkles
are improved by tightening and elevating
the lateral canthus and/or a light
peel if interested.
